Kinetico has been making water better for a long time now. Larry Hendricks shares a story of his Kinetico installation that lasted long enough that he became a returning customer.

In 1982 I bought my first water softener and installed it. It was not Kinetico but at that time I did not know anything about a water softener other than when you take a shower you get more suds from the soap.

This really didn’t happen so I invested (at that time) about $3.00 in a test kit and found the water was not soft. My water bill had also increased because it was a single tank with a timer that would run every day whether anyone used water or not.

I started asking questions about water softeners and found that one company built a softener that would only rejuvenate after you used so many gallons of water. It was Kinetico. In 1983 I traded in my old water softener and bought a Kinetico.

I had no trouble until about 3 years after I bought it and found out it had a factory defect. I called the company and they sent a repair man out and replaced the bladders in the tanks. After that I had two more problems with the head getting dirt in it (not the fault of the water softener) and the second time the repair man suggested that I put a sediment filter before the water softener. I did so and also added a chlorine filter as well.

That was in 1995. There hasn’t been a repair man here since and I’m getting the same quality water as if I were buying bottled water.

I’m replacing the old one with a new Kinetico for a couple of reasons. Nothing manufactured lasts forever and although it did last for 28 years this one is no exception. The other reason is because of the good deal I was offered by American Water of Round Rock. They also have a very good and qualified service department.

Here is to another 28 years (or more) service with Kinetico and American Water.

Before we got there, this household had been making do with an EcoWater softener that had seen better days. We gave them a hand and intalled a Kinetico 2030s softener and Kinetico 1030 dechlorinator. This equipment is a handsome addition to any garage if we do say so ourselves.

This home originally had a Culligan softener, which wasn’t quite cutting the mustard. We upgraded their system to the Kinetico 2030S water softener coupled with a Kinetico 1030 dechlorinator, giving the household complete treatment for the first time.

The customer bought a home that included a big box store softener. Even though the softener was not very old the repairs needed would have cost the same as buying the same system new. Mr. Nwampka chose to call Kinetico and have a whole house treatment system installed that carries the longest comprehensive warranty in the industry. His family is now enjoying chlorine-free soft water as well as purified drinking water from a Kinetico K5 Reverse Osmosis.

The world renowned University of Texas at Austin recently chose the Kinetico 2030S for it’s water filtration needs at the Stark Center.  The museum required a humidifier to maintain the humidity for the current exhibit: “Our Body: The Universe Within”. Featuring actual preserved human bodies, the exhibit required a constant humidity to prevent deterioration. Unfortunately the water contained too many minerals for proper humidifier use, forcing the museum to shut down the humidifier until the problem was resolved.

The Kinetico 2030S was identified as the preferred solution to provide water filtration. The model features a patented, non-electric twin tank design that provides uninterrupted water supply. This was key to the university since the humidifier was required to run continuously.

Additionally, the Kinetico 2030S will save the University of Texas money by reducing maintenance costs. It uses 60-70% less salt than the industry average. This was highly appreciated in the current atmosphere of budgetary restraint being felt at all levels of the University.

American Water’s professional staff was proud to support a local institution such as the University of Texas; installation took less than 4 hours.  Stark Center officials were confident that the Kinetico 2030S would meet their requirements and enable them to continue the exhibit without fear of deteriorating the display.

American Water installed a Kinetico 2060S water softener and 2060 Sulfer Guard for this customer to improve their well water. The hardness was 14 gpg before the softener and is now 0 gpg. The Sulfer Guard eliminates rotten egg smell. Installation time approximately 4 hrs.

Kinetico 2100S water softener and 1100 Neutralizer. The water hardness was 82 gpg and the ph was 6.6 before the system.  After the system the hardness is 0 gpg and the ph is 7.6.  The softener
emilinated water spotting and soap scum as well as build up in the water heater and other water-using appliances.  The raised ph makes the water non-aggressive and corrosive on plumbing.

Kinetico K5 reverse osmosis drinking system. Total dissolved solids before the drinking system are 300 ppm and 1 ppm afterwards. Mr. Lamy now has purified water on tap. His ice maker was also connected for clear purifed ice cubes.

The Kinetico K5 reverse osmosis drinking system comes standard with a designer faucet. The faucet comes in most all colors to match any decor.

Kinetico 2030S water softener and 1030 dechlorinator installed outside. Kinetico being non-electric does not require being inside. Installation took approximately 5 hours. Water hardness before softener was 16 gpg and the chlorine level was 1.5 ppm. After the softener and dechlorinator they are 0 gpg and 0 ppm.
